Product Listing
Create a single product listing from an item in your dispenser.
The single-product listing flow lives on the Products page. Click to open the Product Setup dialog and create one listing at a time. For the first-time walkthrough, see Product Listing.
Setting basic product info
The Basic Info step connects the listing to the item that will be delivered and sets its basic sale details.
- Item to be delivered: an item picker for dispenser contents. Three filter modes control what appears:
- Unlisted Only: items not yet associated with any product and whose name does not contain "demo".
- All Items: every dispenser item, listed and unlisted, whose name does not contain "demo".
- Demos Only: items whose name contains "demo".
- Price (L$): the product's price in Linden dollars.
- Image UUID: the Second Life texture UUID for the product image.
- Demo item: an optional second item picker for a demo version of the product. This adds a "Demo" button to the menu of the vendor that product is associated with.
If an item you placed in the dispenser does not appear in any picker mode, you may not have transfer permission over it. A single no-transfer object inside the item (such as a script) can make the whole item non-transferable for you, and the dispenser ignores items it cannot transfer. Before troubleshooting permissions, also confirm you are looking in the right mode: All Items if the item is already associated with a product, or Demos Only if its name contains "demo".
Configuring extra product options
The Extra Config step controls optional product behavior and display details.
- Copy, Modify, and Transfer: tell Allomancy what permissions the inworld item carries. The Copy flag is the most important one: customers cannot request a redelivery of a product marked as no-copy, so make sure it matches the actual permissions of the item in your dispenser.
- Bloggable: makes the product available to be retrieved by your bloggers on the blogger-facing site at bloggers.allomancy.com. No effect on what customers see or pay.
- Block Credits: prevents customers from paying for this product with store credit. If a customer attempts to use their credit (or pays a partial L$ amount expecting credit to cover the rest), Allomancy refunds the payment and sends a local-chat message explaining that store credit cannot be used for this product.
- Limited: enables a stock-count field for this product. When Limited is on, you set the number of copies available. Each purchase decreases the count by one; when the count reaches zero, the product becomes Sold Out and cannot be purchased. Restock by raising the count. Useful for limited-edition releases.
- Product name: the customer-visible name for this product. It auto-fills from the item picked in Item to be delivered, and must be unique within your store.
- Product Description (For bloggers): an optional description shown to bloggers.
The Copy, Modify, and Transfer checkboxes describe how Allomancy treats the product. They do not change the actual Second Life object permissions inside the dispenser.
Splitting profit on the product
The Profit Share step lets you split a product's profit among multiple residents.
Type a username and click Add to look it up. Each added row has a percent field and to remove the row. A running total below the list shows the combined percentage, which cannot exceed 100%.
For the profit-share limits and how product profit shares differ from vendor profit shares, see Profit Share.
For how product discounts compose with vendor, customer, loyalty, and coupon discounts at purchase time, see the Loyalty discounts section on the Customers page.
